Dice that even out the odds as you play, making the game fairer and more strategic. For Settlers of Catan, Seafarers, Cities & Knights and Colonist-style games with 2 to 6 players.
In Settlers of Catan, settlement placement relies on roll probabilities. Normal dice can be erratic, favoring some players by chance. Balanced dice ensure numbers like 6 or 8 pay off as expected, making strategy matter more.
Example: With balanced dice, a 6 will roll closer to its 5/36 chance over time, unlike normal dice where luck might skip it.
Balanced dice adjust their rolls based on your game’s history. If a number hasn’t appeared as often as its probability suggests, the app increases its chances on the next roll. Over time, this ensures numbers 2 through 12 match their expected frequencies.
Example: If 7 (expected 1/6 of the time) is under-rolled, balanced dice make it more likely, helping it align with the odds.
The balance intensity slider controls how much the dice adjust. At 0%, rolls are random (like normal dice). At 100%, they closely follow expected probabilities (e.g., 7 at ~17%). Settings in between blend randomness and balance.
We recommend 50%. Long droughts and streaks get smoothed out, but the dice still surprise you, so nobody can work out what comes next.
